Please join us for a virtual public hearing on February 28th to stop another fracked natural gas power plant from coming to an environmental justice community in Keasbey, New Jersey. Read the public notice here.
Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) has proposed to build a new 630-megawatt gas- fired power plant in the Keasbey section of Woodbridge, New Jersey. If approved, it would be the second natural gas facility in the community of Woodbridge Township and will potentially generate millions of tons of GHG annually. CPV is currently waiting for approval from the state and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), including an air pollution permit.
However, last week, a draft air permit for the Woodbridge power plant was posted for public comment. It is urgent to make our voices heard on the public health, environmental, and justice implications of this decision in order to defend people on the frontlines of pollution.
We cannot allow intentional pollution to be permitted and state agencies must reject the construction of a second gas power plant.
